Akamai Technologies said it acquired Velocius Networks, which optimizes application traffic for enterprises, for an undisclosed sum.
Velocius only had five employees that will be integrated into Akamai's engineering team in India.
In a statement, the company said that Velocius will round out its hybrid cloud optimization unit. Velocius' technology optimizes Internet Protocol traffic for remote workers and employees in branches.
Velocius quality of service products will be integrated into Akamai's platform. Akamai has been making a broad push in the enterprise to better deliver applications.
Akamai said it paid all cash for Velocius, which was founded in 2011.
