Submission request to W3C
We, Netscape Communications, W3C member, hereby submit to the Consortium the following specification comprising the document(s) linked below:which collectively are referred to as "The Submission". We request The Submission be known as the XML Meta Content submission.
AbstractThis document provides the specification for a data model for describing information organization structures (meta content) for collections of networked information. It also provides a syntax for the representation of instances of this data model using XML, the Extensible Markup Language.
Intellectual property RightsNetscape agrees that the submission may be copied, modified, and distributed by W3C staff and W3C members as part of the W3C process. Netscape claims no copyright interests in the documents comprising the submission.
NamesThe following are registered marks refered to in this request or the submission None
SpecificationIn the case that The Submission is acception as a work item, The Submission may be distributed within the membership of W3C free of any fee.
ImplementationNetscape believes that there may be dependencies on neccesary supporting technologies.
Suggested actionWe suggest that the Consortium incorporate this into the architectural domain activities.
ResourcesTo help with this work, we expect to be able to provide the neccesary technical assistance, amounting to the equivalent of at least one full time engineer. We also expect other companies and organizations to become involved and commit significant technical resources.
Change controlShould any changes be required to the document, we would expect future versions to be produced by W3C process.
