It should say:

For example, Я stands for CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER YA.

Notes:

The correct code point for CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER YA is U+042F. U+044F would be CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER YA. See http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0400.pdf.
