The M-VP-25XA-XYZL Metric Precision Compact Linear Stage provides high-precision positioning performance in an ultra-compact form factor. A low friction ball screw drive provides robust, reliable performance with excellent thrust and minimal heat induced position drift. Combined with excellent minimum incremental motion of 0.1μm and travel of 25mm, the M-VP-25XA-XYZL is ideal for applications requiring fine manipulation of small parts such as alignment of optical fibers. Featuring a manual adjustment knob,M-VP-25XA-XYZL stages are versatile enough to handle automated and non-automated tasks alike. Backlash-free BallscrewThe VP includes a preloaded, backlash-free ball screw, which provides smooth motion and outstanding bi-directional repeatability.
DC Motor for Smooth, High Speed MotionDC Motors are best characterized by their high speeds, smooth motion, good efficiency and a high power/weight ratio. Precise closed-loop servo positioning and speed control on these VP stages is achieved with a built-in linear encoder and included tachometer. A manual adjustment knob also adds to the utility of these stages.
End-of-Run Limit SwitchesThe stage contains end-of-run limit switches on both ends to prevent damage to the stage from over-travel.
Metrology Report Included at No Additional CostNewport guarantees specification values which are measured and recorded following ASME B5.57 and ISO 230-2 standards. The typical performance values are two times better than the guaranteed specifications.
Error Mapping ServicesFor critical positioning applications, Newport offers error mapping upon request for VP-25XL stages driven by our XPS advanced motion controller. We will measure, implement, and verify the results of this error map that will individually optimize each stage's position accuracy. In addition, multi-axis error mapping is also available. Measurements are made at 20.0 ±0.2 °C. A certificate of calibration will be provided with your stage. Actual data may also be provided upon request.
