Blockade runner, Sarah and Caroline, a pilot-boat schooner, was captured by Union side-wheel steamer USS Bienville near the mouth of the St. John's River, FL., 11 DEcember 1861
The Atlantic in winter precluded sending the frail schooner north for adjudication
She was put into Union Navy service at Port Royal serving the South Atlantic Blockading Squadron as a tender
Purchased by the Navy from the New York prize court, 1 August 1863
After the war ended, Sarah and Caroline was sold at Port Royal, 8 August 1865
