Built in 1859 at Brownsville, PA.
Purchased by the War Department, 18 May 1862
Assigned to to the Col. Charles Ellet, Jr. USA, Western Flotilla on the Mississippi River as an Auxiliary
T.D. Horner served the Ram Fleet and its successor, the Marine Brigade, as a tug until the latter was dissolved on 24 August 1864.
Taken into the Navy in August 1864.
After the Civil War ended, T.D. Horner was sold by the Government, 17 August 1865
Re-documented for merchant service, 27 November 1865 plying the Mississippi and its tributaries until New Year's Day 1868
Final Disposition, 1 January 1868 T.D. Horner hit a bridge at Louisville, Ky., and was damaged beyond economical repair Specifications:
