    Potomska in company with USS Mohican and USS Pocahontas she took possession of St. Simon’s and Jekyl Islands, 9 March 1862 and landed at Brunswick, GA.
    Involved in an expeditions to St. Catherine’s Sound, GA., 27 April 1862, and Darien, GA., 9 May, 1862
    Decommissioned in August for repairs at Philadelphia
