The Moderator Tools team will be running an experiment where the 'group results by page' feature will be shown more prominently for a subset of contributors on their watchlist, recent changes and related changes pages for a limited amount of time.
Watchlist, recent changes and related changes pages are important jumping off points for contributors, but the pages have many actions and features that could overwhelm contributors and make it more difficult to find edits. Additionally, recent research has shown that due to the complexity of the pages, contributors have been requesting features that already exist eg. filtering by namespace, hiding page category changes, group edits by page, view talk, or article pages only and auto-refresh. The goal of the experiment is to see whether bringing forward the feature will help with the discoverability and make it easier to find the edits that contributors are interested in.
A Special:Watchlist page with the 'group results by page' toggle.The experiment will be an A/B test during which the 'group results by page' toggle will be placed below the 'Active filters' for better discoverability on watchlist, recent changes and related changes pages. This toggle will allow contributors to enable/disable the feature during the experiment.
