Issue 71: Encodings and unicode http://code.google.com/p/html5lib/issues/detail?id=71
New issue report by dirk.holtwick: If the parameter "encoding" is passed to the parser it will be tested against a list in constants. That leads to the problem that the encoding "utf8" is not recognized because just "utf-8" is in the list, even "utf8" is a valid encoding name for Python (see Python Docs "4.8.3 Standard Encodings"). Instead of testing against a list you may consider to use some Python standard functions for testing. BTW, where can the standard encoding be set before parsing if all detections fail?
