Those who previously bought the disc or digital version of Minecraft PS3 Edition will be able to upgrade to PS4 Edition for $5.00 USD. This applies to players who have a saved game of the PS3 version and are signed into their PS4 console with the same SEN account. Full directions are outlined on the blog.
Players will be able to import PS3 saves to the PS4 Edition, which offers worlds 36 times bigger than the PS3 version.
IGN's Greg Miller saw the PS4 version of Minecraft on the PlayStation Store Mobile Storefront earlier today. PlayStation France later confrmed on Twitter that the digital version was releasing tomorrow.The PS4 version was resubmitted for testing last week after it failed to pass certification due to "some issues" found in the final test. The PS4 Edition news follows Microsoft's recent announcement that Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will launch September 5 for $20 USD.
