Founded in 1946, the Television Academy is dedicated to honoring excellence in television while promoting creativity, diversity and empowering storytellers through recognition, education and leadership.

How to JoinMembership Requirements and the Application Process
You do not need an invitation to be part of the Television Academy. If you work in television, applying for membership is easy and can be accomplished in 20 minutes or less.
Steps to Join
Membership Types and FeesIndividuals should meet the following minimum requirements:
are at least eighteen (18) years of age
are or have been actively engaged in activities related to the production or distribution of television for national exhibition during the four (4) immediately preceding years and:
qualify for admission to one (1) or more of the Peer Groups or
have been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award within the four (4) years immediately preceding their application for membership or
have achieved a significant body of work relevant to the peer group that warrants a waiver of the peer group requirements.
Individuals should meet the following minimum requirements:
are currently working in the production or distribution of television
qualify for admission to one (1) or more of the Peer Groups
Individuals who are actively engaged in activities related to the production or distribution of television for local exhibition within the Metropolitan Los Angeles qualify for Los Angeles Area Peer Group.

All Los Angeles-based members can experience the latest in entertainment at the Television Academy's state-of-the-art Wolf Theatre by adding Screening Room to their membership. Members and guests can enjoy new film releases and other big-screen offerings in one of the most technologically advanced screening rooms in the country.
