The board is powered by Atmelâs SAMD21 MCU, which features a 32-bit ARM Cortex® M0+ core. One of its most important features is Atmelâs Embedded Debugger (EDBG), which provides a full debug interface without the need for additional hardware, significantly increasing the ease-of-use for software debugging. EDBG also supports a virtual COM port that can be used for device and bootloader programming.
Embedded Debugger
The Zero comes with a built-in debugger, which can be used with the Arduino IDE 2 version.
Battery Connector
The Arduino Zero features a barrel plug connector, that works great with a standard 9V battery.
Low Power Support
This board can be optimized to reduce power consumption via the Arduino Low Power library.
