Adobe Reader is a free program for viewing and printing PDF documents.
It includes an Adobe Acrobat browser plugin for displaying PDF documents within Firefox and other Web browsers. (By default, Firefox uses its built-in PDF Viewer.)

Even though Firefox no longer supports the Adobe Reader browser plugin, you can still use the Adobe Reader program as your PDF viewer in Firefox, as explained below. By default, Firefox will use its built-in PDF Viewer. To use the Adobe Reader program or browser plugin instead:

  1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click and then select or , depending on your macOS version.Click the menu button and select .

  3. Select the Portable Document Format (PDF) entry and change the action to use the Adobe Reader program or the Adobe Acrobat plugin.
