This feature is no longer available in Firefox 47 and higher.

The Marketplace is a store that lets you find and install free and paid apps on your Android device. Marketplace apps are developed using open web technology, so any app you purchase or install on one device can be accessed on your other devices.

Enable Marketplace apps on your device: Before you begin, please change your device's settings to allow Marketplace apps on your Android device: tap on the Settings menu on your device, then Security. In the Security menu, select Unknown Sources or a similar option that lets you install apps from sources other than Google Play.

Find and install Open Web Apps on Android

When you open the Marketplace you'll be able to search for specific apps or browse apps by popularity or category.

  1. To get to the Marketplace, go to https://marketplace.firefox.com on your device.
  2. On the list of apps or sites, tap Categories and choose a category to narrow down the list of choices.
  3. Tap on an app or site to learn more about it. You'll see a description, screenshots, reviews from other users and an option to install the app or launch the site.

Note: You'll need a Marketplace account to pay for an app. The process for purchasing an app differs between carrier and country. Just follow the simple on screen instructions.

Access your purchased apps through the Marketplace

Because Marketplace apps are developed using Open Web technology, you can use them on your desktop, Android and Firefox OS devices if you sign up for an account.

  1. Sign in to the Marketplace by tapping More at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap . (If you don't have an account, you'll have the opportunity to create one as well.)
  3. Follow the prompts to sign in or create a new Firefox Account.
  4. Once you've signed in, you can access apps you've installed by tapping the More button again, then tapping .
Remove or uninstall Open Web Apps

You can uninstall apps purchased through the Marketplace the same way you would uninstall native Android apps:

  1. To remove an app from your home screen, do a long-tap on the app and drag up towards the option at the top of the home screen.
  2. To uninstall an app, go to your app tray (or app drawer), then do a long-tap on the app you want to uninstall. Drag the app up towards the option at the top of your screen.
Tip

: If your device does not display the

option when you do a long tap, try removing the app through your device's

Settings

menu:

  1. Tap on your Settings menu, then tap Apps.
  2. Choose the app you want to remove, then tap on .
