Customize the Firefox home screen

Firefox Home on your Android device displays your shortcuts, recently visited tabs, recently saved bookmarks and searches, and collections, as well as articles and topics recommended by Pocket.

Firefox Home on your Android device provides a convenient dashboard displaying your shortcuts, recently visited tabs, bookmarks and collections, as well as articles and topics recommended by Pocket. This allows you to quickly access your favorite sites, revisit recently viewed pages, organize related web pages, and discover interesting content suggested by Pocket.

Customize Firefox Home

You can control which sections are visible on your Firefox for Android homepage:

  1. Tap Customize homepage at the bottom of your homepage.
  2. Tap the switch next to to turn it on (purple) or off (gray).
  3. Check or uncheck the box next to to turn it on or off.
  4. Tap the switch next to to turn it on (purple) or off (gray).
  5. Tap the switch next to to turn it on (purple) or off (gray).
  6. Tap the switch next to to turn it on (purple) or off (gray).
  7. Tap the switch next to to turn on (purple) or off (gray) Pocket-powered articles.
  8. Check or uncheck the box next to to turn it on or off.

You can also customize the home page background by tapping and then selecting a wallpaper offered by Firefox.

Shortcuts Add a site to your shortcuts

Your shortcuts will be listed as icons on your homepage for easy access.

  1. Visit the page you want to pin.
  2. Tap the menu button
  3. Tap .

When you open a new tab, the pinned website will now appear in your shortcuts.

Unpinning sites from your shortcuts

You can unpin a thumbnail by pressing down on it and selecting from the menu.

Collections

You can organize groups of tabs for quick access as collections for tidy storage and viewing on your home screen. Firefox Collections can be easily created when you have the need and then deleted when you no longer do.

Create a new collection

To create new collections:

  1. Visit the page you want to add to a new collection.
  2. Tap the menu button
  3. Tap .
  4. Tap Add new collection.
  5. Enter a name for the new collection in the text field that displays.
  6. Tap Done.
  7. The collection now displays within the Collections section on the home screen.
