Add social features to the Firefox sidebar

Add social features to the Firefox sidebar

Never miss another update! Keep up with the latest stories and updates by adding social features from various websites right in the Firefox sidebar.

You can load content from a number of websites right into your sidebar:

Some of these services might be available only in the U.S. unless stated otherwise.

  1. Visit one of these pages.
  2. Click the Activate Now button on the page. A confirmation message will appear.
  3. Click Enable Services in the message.

Note: Some services will ask you to log in so their feed will work properly.

Turn social features off and on
  1. Add the sidebar button to your toolbar or menu if you haven't already.
  2. Click on the sidebar button to see a list of services.
  3. Click on the service that you'd like to display.
  4. To turn a service off, click on the sidebar button and click on the active service to uncheck it.
Switch feeds

You can activate multiple feeds and switch between them.

  1. Click the gear icon at the top right corner of your sidebar.
  2. Click to select the site you want to load.
Disable or remove a feed

If necessary, you can remove a service from Firefox.

  1. Click the menu button , click and select .
  2. The Services panel will list all the social networks and content providers you've installed.
  3. Find the site you want to remove and click on Remove next to it.

Note: If you remove a service and then later want to use it again, you will have to re-add it to Firefox.

Having trouble? Here are some things you can try

If you see a message in the sidebar that Firefox can't connect with a service, click the Try Again button. If that doesn't work, you may just have to wait a bit for it to become available again.

Tip: You can also try removing and then re-adding a service.
