Verify your business on Google

To update your business info, like name and operating hours on Google, and interact with customers, verify your business.

Step 1: Find your businessFind your business on Google

Important: To find your profile, you must sign in to the Google Account associated with it.

Try any of these methods to find your profile.

If needed: Add or claim your business on Google Step 2: Verify your business

To verify your business, try the options available for your Business Profile. The verification options available to your business are based on factors like your business category, public info, region, or business hours.

Important:

Video recording Phone or text

Important: To get your verification code, make sure you can answer your business phone number or receive texts. Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems will not get the code.

  1. Go to your Business Profile.
  2. Click Get verified Phone or SMS.
  3. Answer the call or open the text with the code.
  4. In your profile, enter the code.
Email

Important: Make sure you can use the email address in the verification screen.

  1. When a representative is available, they’ll help you join a video call.
  2. To show your business location and ownership, use the camera on your device.
Mail

If verification by mail is available in your Business Profile and you choose this method, we’ll mail you a verification code. To confirm that your business is at the listed address, you must enter your unique code on your profile.

Important: Verification by postcard may not be available for all businesses. Please try the options available to you, and if you're still unable to verify your business, please contact support.

Step 1: Request your code

Most codes arrive within 14 days.

Step 2: Wait for your code to arrive through mail

After you follow the verification steps, Google reviews the info you provided. To help maintain the integrity of your Business Profile, verification review can take up to 5 business days.

Tip: In some cases, Google verifies a profile instantly. This can happen when:

When your business is verified, you’ll receive a confirmation email.

Tip: If a third party helps you manage your profile, you can add them to your profile after you’re verified.

Fix verification issues or verify your business again

In some cases, Google may find issues about your verification. You can either fix these verification issues or verify your business again.

“Get verified” button appears on your profile again

When the “Get verified” button appears on your Business Profile again, Google can’t completely verify your business. To fix this issue, try to verify again.

If your Business Profile shows multiple verification options, you can try to verify another way. Learn how to verify your business.

“Review issues” notification

When you verify with a video recording and get a “Review issues” notification, your video wasn’t accepted. To fix this issue:

  1. Click Review issues.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Give additional info to re-verify

If you’re asked to give additional info to re-verify your profile, this is likely because you changed some info about your business. To make sure your business info is accurate, Google might ask you to give more details or update your info.

To fix this issue, click Get Verified and try to verify again. Learn how to verify your business.
