Summary:The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, launched in 2015, provides a blueprint for shared prosperity in a sustainable world. This report examines overall world progress made towards key goals of the agenda, including ending poverty and hunger, improving health and ending preventable diseases, equality of access to education, equality for women and girls, access to water and sanitation, access to affordable and sustainable energy, improving inclusive and sustainable economic growth and decent work, making cities inclusive and safe, ensuring sustainable consumption and production, and combatting climate change. This 2019 report demonstrates that progress is being made in some critical areas, and that some favorable trends are evident. However, there are also many areas that need urgent collective attention and a much deeper, faster and more ambitious response is needed to unleash the social and economic transformation needed to achieve the 2030 goals.
