Abstract

Phenyl- and naphthylpyridazinone derivatives of the formula: are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula: with a hydrazine of the formula R5-NHNH2 or with hydrazine hydrate, hydrazine hydrochloride or hydrazine sulphate. In the formulae, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R7 and X have the meaning given in Claim 1. The reaction is carried out in the presence of a base and a solvent. If R7 is a lower alkyl group, the reaction mixture obtained is treated with an acid at elevated temperature. The compounds of the formula I can be used as fungicides in agriculture.
