OTDA Home Programs & Services SNAP Help Applying for SNAP

In many locations throughout New York State, nutrition outreach providers and community organizations can help you by:

• Assisting you with completing the SNAP application, including the online version
• Answering any questions, and/or
• Assisting current recipients with SNAP recertification.

After your application is filed, the local Department of Social Services or SNAP office will review the application, conduct an interview, and determine your household's eligibility for SNAP benefits.

SNAP Outreach Providers provide confidential SNAP application assistance for individuals and households. If more assistance is required, please contact your local Department of Social Services.
