The Independent

Sir Keir Starmer has been interviewed by The Independent about the UK-US trade deal and his negotiations with Donald Trump.

The prime minister said the "grown-ups" had set aside their huge political differences to reach a deal.

Daily Mail

The head of the Royal Navy has been suspended, according to the Daily Mail.

It reports that Admiral Sir Ben Key is being investigated over reports of an affair with a female officer.

The newspaper states that there is no suggestion of anything criminal, and the relationship was consensual.

The Daily Telegraph

The Daily Telegraph has that story about the Navy chief, and reports he has "stepped down" over an alleged relationship with a colleague.

The newspaper also reports on the prospect of criminal charges for businesses in England which fail to properly separate their recycling.

i weekend

The i weekend reveals the results of an opinion poll which it says reflects rising support for Reform UK.

It suggests Nigel Farage's party now has a 10-point lead over Labour and is 13 points ahead of the Conservatives.

FT Weekend

Donald Trump has hinted at cutting trade tariffs with China in return for Beijing opening its markets to American products.

The FT Weekend quotes an online post by the US president, who has suggested halving the current tariff on Chinese goods to 80%.

The newspaper points out this is probably a negotiating tactic ahead of talks on Saturday between the two countries.

Daily Star

The results of a hard-hitting survey feature on the front of the Daily Star.

It reveals that people called Kevin get fewer online dates.

It pictures Harry Enfield as his infamous teenage character Kevin, who always complained that everything was "so unfair".

Daily Express

The Daily Express is focused on weight loss jabs and their potential to help people get back to work.

The newspaper reports that if all eligible patients are prescribed the drugs, the UK economy could be boosted by £4.5m a year.

It pictures the Princess of Wales and "Catherine's Rose" - a new rose created to celebrate Kate's work highlighting the "healing power of nature".

The Times

The Times reports on Home Office forecasts for net migration and suggests the annual figure from 2028 will be 525,000, well above the 340,000 level expected by the government.

It says Home Secretary Yvette Cooper will publish the government's immigration white paper next week, which is designed to set out how to reduce net migration.

Daily Mirror

There are tensions between David and Victoria Beckham and their son, Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz - according to the Daily Mirror.

The headline "It's War" reflects what the newspaper suggests is a feud between the couples.
