There is nothing "defensive" in my question.  I simply don't understand
what you are complaining about other than
your code using pytz produces different results from some other your code
using email.utils.localtime.

If you think you found a bug in  email.utils.localtime - please explain it
without referring to a third party library.

It will also help if you do it at the bug tracker.
