Something that's really REALLY awesome on PyPI but isn't in the stdlib might be packaged by various Linux distros. If you use Debian, typing "apt-cache pkgnames python-" (or using tab completion on an "apt-get install") will show you a veritable ton of packages, many of which are originally off PyPI. Even if you don't actually use that distribution, it might be worth telling the gatekeeper that Debian and/or Red Hat have indicated trust for some particular version of some particular package, which might help get over that hump. But it's still going to be a much bigger hump than "it's in CPython 3.4". ChrisA
