Normally I would completely agree. However, this bug has been shitcanned for a decade. This is the last chance to fix this bug in a branch that's going to be supported until 2020! An unknown portion of Python 2.x users will never upgrade to 3. Do we continue on this path in good conscience for at least six more years? -Mike
