Agreed, although in this case there wasn't much additional rationale beyond "Raymond and I decided we preferred the shorter spelling, so we changed it" :) I figured it was a minor enough change that the commit message was adequate documentation, but I acknowledge it would have been better to create a new issue with its own NEWS entry to more explicitly track the change.
