When pathlib-in-the-stdlib stabilizes, I plan to release a pathlib 1.0 on PyPI that will integrate the PEP's API. In the meantime, if you don't mind installing from VCS, you clone the Mercurial repo (https://bitbucket.org/pitrou/pathlib/) and then checkout branch "pep428". It's 2.7-compatible. Regards Antoine.
