If that is true, then there has to be a bug somewhere... I might not have tried on 3.2 with virtualenv, but it doesn't take anywhere near that time normally, and this is not a normal runtime at all. When we are talking about 2to3 being slow here we are talking about it taking 10 seconds to install a software that would have taken under a second to install on Python 2.
