It's also somewhat painful to have local changes that you *don't* want to push - you have to be selective about what gets sent to the remote repository, so a simple "hg push" doesn't work any more. I forgot to mention the other advantage of having a local sandbox that corresponds to your public sandbox - it makes it easy to keep your work area in sync across multiple machines.
