Sure, but supporting setuptools was kind of possible for packages
relying heavily on distutils, even if it was not simple and fragile.
Distutils2 being incompatible API-wise with distutils, I am not sure
it will be as "easy" as with setuptools. It may be, but the only way
to know is to do it, and the incentive rather unclear. It means that
anyway, a lot of infrastructure will have to support both "standards"
for the time being.
