Take a look at http://hg.python.org/pymigr/ What I *think* is missing is all the hook scripts (but you would need to check with Dirkjan whether they are already somewhere). In theory, I would expect that you can run this migration suite yourself, and get a working installation - but I never tried myself. See also PEP 385, which is the master plan. I'm not sure whether the approach to branches has been approved (or who could really approve it); I just notice that the current conversion produces a ridiculously large repository (which fails to download with older versions of hg because of size). On the meta level, what seems to be missing as well is a clear view on what the status is - so if you manage to get it working somehow, don't forget to post what you think the status is.
