Forgive my ignorance...

I'm working with 2.5 on ubuntu and didn't think to try 2.6...

It's good to know that the problem is fixed in 2.6 but I still need to
make things work for pythonpkgmgr on ubuntu py2.5 as 2.5 is the default
for ubuntu 8.10.
