I've been trying: ./configure --with-universal-archs=32-bit --enable-framework --enable-universalsdk=/ MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET=10.5 but the configure AC_C_BIGENDIAN macro doesn't seem to pick up on the universality: the output from ./configure contains the line: checking whether byte ordering is bigendian... no I was expecting a "... universal" instead of "... no". >From reading the autoconf manual, it seems as though AC_C_BIGENDIAN knows some magic to make things work for universal builds; it ought to be possible to imitate that magic somehow.
