In case you don't know already, the website is not fully updated, yet:

http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.6/

Top of the page says "2.6a1" instead of "2.6a2".

This file is apparently not yet updated for 2.6alpha2.

http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.6/NEWS.txt

For the 3.0 version:

Top of the page still says "3.0a3".
