My main question: Who will implement that idea? Ideas are cheap;
making them come true is a lot of work.

It seems that you believe the current implementation of Python
is *deliberately* slow, and that a new implementation would
necessarily be faster. Please rest assured that this is not
the case: people have put a considerable amount of work into
making Python as fast as it is today.
