It's probably not a good idea to assume that just because Pyrex is around, the user wants to use it in all cases. He might be installing a package distributed by someone with a different version of Pyrex that wasn't quite compatible. If he's not modifying the .pyx files, it would be safer to just use the provided .c files. -- Greg
