OK, I'll wait until 2.4 is out and submit another patch based on the
mainline CVS through the SourceForge system.

- What speaks against making the ticker accumulation available
  at the script level?

- Is there an alternative way of achieving the goal of my proposal?
  It was:
  > A fast, easy, and non-intrusive method for estimating how much time
  > is spent in Python code and how much time in extension modules.
