Speaking of Icon, the 3 major books published on it are available for free downloading in PDF format now: http://www.cs.arizona.edu/icon/books.htm I especially recommend the "Design & Implementation" book, which is out of print. There are few good books about the implementations of very high level languages, and this book is excellent. It no longer matches the current implementation of Icon in several respects, but who cares <wink>. Two (also free) separate technical reports try to explain how the current implementation differs: http://www.cs.arizona.edu/icon/docs/ipd112.htm http://www.cs.arizona.edu/icon/docs/ipd239.htm
