If you think the patch is best revised in a new form, please submit a new patch, and leave a message in the original one indicating that you think your patch should supercede the patch of the original submitter. However, as Brett explains, there might be other (perhaps better) ways to achieve the same effect: If you think the patch needs revision in a certain direction, ask the submitter to revise the patch accordingly. If you come up with a competing patch, the competition itself may cause bad feelings - so try to work with the submitter, not against her. Regards, Martin
