[Python-Dev] Removing operator.isMappingType

My previous posting on this didn't get resolved.  
This issue is that the function doesn't work:
>>> map(operator.isMappingType, ['', u'', (), [], {}])
[True, True, True, True, True]
 
If someone thinks this should not be removed, please speak up.
