[Python-Dev] alternate pserver access for python CVS?

SF's pserver CVS is so unreliable of late as to make it almost useless.
I wonder if we could do something with taking the nightly tarball of the
CVSROOT and installing it on creosote, then making pserver (readonly) 
access for people who aren't on the list of SF developers for python?
