you could require parentheses:

    from OPAL.Modules.Financial.Reports.COGS import (
        generate, webOptions, normalize, row_ops,
        summary
    )

(after all, from-import is a kind of assignment, and "a, b = c" is
the same thing as "(a, b) = c"...)
