Regardless of what any standard says, we have to live with what platforms actually do, so I think it's a waste of time to chop the text in either standard. Note that current CVS Python realloc works the way the Python docs say it works. For older Pythons the actual implementation of realloc simply doesn't match the Python docs across platforms (so realloc(p, 0) may or may not return NULL, and independent of what malloc(0) does).
