But that's *not* clear to anyone who knows what the
word "enumerate" really means, and isn't just guessing
based on the fact that it has "num" in it.

There doesn't seem to be any single English word that
captures all of what we mean without ambiguity.
Maybe we should be making up a new word altogether,
such as "numberize" or something.
