Re: IDLE: Martin already contributed a Tools/idle/setup.py, but I'm not sure how to trigger it recursively. Perhaps a configure option --install-idle, which controls an idleinstall target in the Makefile. Making it only install if Tkinter is compiled seems icky; I don't see how to do that cleanly.
