[Python-Dev] dl module

The dl module isn't automatically compiled by setup.py, and at least
one patch on SourceForge adds it.
 
Question: should it be compiled as a standard module?  Using it can,
according to the comments, cause core dumps if you're not careful.
 
Question: does anyone actually use the dl module?  If not, maybe it
could be dropped.
