Looks like I jumped the gun with my last message. A trivial change to the logic prevented the keyword arguments slowdown. I've revised the SF patch. The new numbers show that the patch is just a tad faster on the benchmark. (And the difference between gcc -O2 and -O3 makes a big difference for this ceval-intensive benchmark.)
