As for the CPAN-like thing, I really got a kick out of Greg S's WebDAV session on Apachecon, and I think it would be suited extremely well as the transmission protocol for SPAM (or however you want to call the Python CPAN ;). You can do the uploading, downloading and searching for modules using WebDAV without too much pain, and there's excellent WebDAV support for Apache ;) Is anyone working on something like this, or even thinking about it ?
