Should posixpath.expandvars throw a SyntaxError if it encounters
unbalanced curly braces?

>>> import posixpath
>>> posixpath.expandvars('/dir1/dir${DIR_NUM/dir2')
'/dir1/dir${DIR_NUM/dir2'
