Sounds like everybody is getting the hint that 2.0 needs to > have some distinguishing characteristics compared to 1.6... :-) Hmm. I just realized an interesting take on 2.0's "distinguishing features". Check out the volume of python-dev traffic - reflecting what's to me, at least, incredibly high pace and high fiber collaboration. Python 2.0 could be about a new process, as much as it is about the license policy changes that better enable it, or the productivity it seems to be promoting. (I'm not silly enough to suggest that the version change could happen solely on the basis of a new process - there really do seem to be genuine results, here...) (And if BeOpen happens to be looking for a product, and you can bottle this, they might like to have it.-) Seriously, maybe BeOpen should concentrate on helping teams to better employ available resources - look at how good they're doing with you guys. Well, ok, what they're doing right is leaving you guys mostly alone - maybe your payoff for them would be to clue them into what works, and they can do some work to deliver it to others. Might could help you all, too, in solidifying what's going on...) Ken klm@digicool.com
