should have realized that all dictionaries I consulted happened to be
american.  when I saw your post, I looked it up in the dictionaries I
have at home (all British), and they all pointed out that the americans
have it all mixed up.

Just like those "Original Swedish Apfelstrudel" I found in Palo Alto...
